It's the year 2026, and fifty five sweaty students have just managed to, despite all odds, miraculously find their way to the building which they have spent the last 20 minutes frantically describing to the roaming first years of UCT as the 'Hoerie Quagga' building.
None of them know what they actually signed up for.
None of them have an idea of the race thats about to begin.
None of them have a clue that the few beads of sweat which they are feeling run down their temples now are the first many...many.
They are the Postgrad class of 2023 and they are about to be introduced to the winners of the Genesis Award from 2013.
They have been introduced as the most dynamic group of individuals the course had ever seen, they each went on to start and run their own private, highly successful companies addressing various needs and issues throughout South Africa.
Someone in the back row drops a pen which is clearly heard from the front of the room.
The expectation is deafening....
This is our cue.
Meet the Team:
Dean Hope Robertson
Murray Middleton
Shea Farrell
Kim Reilly
Sarah Mills
Sam Nkhata and
Teboho Malimabe
and we begin to tell our story, starting from when we were sitting just like them, scared as hell, wondering if we made the right decision, and wishing we did cheffing.
So lets start at the very beginning, for their sakes
